The oldest framed structure on the Big Island, Lyman House was
built by Congregationalist missionaries David and Sarah Lyman. The
house reveals the architecture and furnishings of the era and provides
a glimpse of what life was like in 1800s Hilo. Next to Lyman
House, a Museum which features unique artifacts of Hawaiian and other
cultures who have immigrated to Hawaii, in addition to the Earth
Heritage Gallery that includes a display of the volcanic process
and a realistic magma chamber.
