Past quiet Hawi town, the main road winds to a scenic spot overlooking
spectacular Pololu Valley where the road ends. You will have an excellent
bird’s eye view of spectacular green valleys and steep cliffs
adorned with silver waterfalls as you look down the rugged coastline
that blends with the deep blue ocean. A hiking trail dips 3 miles
into Pololu Valley, which was heavily populated in ancient days,
and provides access to a beautiful black sand beach. Swimming is
not recommended as currents are at times hazardous.
